Mirror Mirror

Evening all :)

I was asked by my neighbour for a card to give to a relative for her birthday, so here's what I came up with :) and after I'm done blogging this, I'm off to wrap my mum's birthday presents cos it's her birthday tomorrow :)

The image is from LOTV, the swirl is a Marianne Design one, the corners and gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearls are from Ribbon Girl, the papers are from the First Edition Dreamcatcher pad and the doily is from my stash. I made the sentiment on the computer. The lace butterflies I won in a raffle - the prize was from Geraldine at Little Snippets - they have an Etsy shop that sells lots of lovely bits and pieces - go and take a look here.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers, I put Stickles on her hairtie and the bows on her shoes and Glossy Accents on the mirror.

A closeup of the lace butterflies, I put purple Stickles on the middle of them.

Bright baby girl card

Evening all :)

I was just about to head to bed when Scraps the outside cat decided it was time to jump up on my knee and fall asleep. Since this is the first time she's ever actually voluntarily sat on my knee, I don't have the heart to put her out yet :( So here I am blogging when I should be sleeping :P She's so warm and cosy!

I made this card this evening, I've made a fair few baby cards in the last little while and I was bored of doing pastel colours so I made a bright one :)

The image and sentiment are from LOTV, the pearls and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the leaf is a MS punch, the papers are MME and the doily is from my stash.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers, I put Stickles on the spots and Glossy Accents on the leaves.

Umbrella card

Evening all :)

I hope you're having better weather than here, it's so grey and misty :( Fingers crossed the sun that's forecasted for the weekend actually comes :)

I saw the challenge over at Saturated Canary of black and white and one other colour, and I decided to have a go at it. I only have three grey markers, so didn't think it'd actually work that well, but I'm actually kind of happy with the result! I've seen people make fab B+W cards, but never thought I'd be able to do anything like it, but it's something I might try again maybe :)

I made this to give to a friend who's been going through a hard time lately, and even though neither of us are fans of Rhianna, some of the lyrics to her song Umbrella are going inside this card, they fit it PERFECTLY:

When the sun shines, we’ll shine together
I told you, I’ll be here forever;
I said I’ll always be your friend,
I’m gonna stick it out til the end.
Now that it’s raining more than ever -
Know that we’ll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella...

The image is from Saturated Canary, I really like her wonderful images! I need to get me some more, they're great for quirky girly cards :) the ribbon is from Joanna Sheen, the swirl is a Marianne die, the papers are from a Papermania pack, the sentiment is LOTV, the gorgeous little umbrella charm is from Ribbon Girl and the flowers and gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

A closeup of the image, which I coloured with Promarkers, I put Glossy Accents on the raindrops, wellies and umbrella and Stickles on her sash and petticoat and around the edge too.

A closeup of the flowers, I love the effect of black and white with a pop of colour, I didn't think I'd be able to do it at all!

A closeup of the ribbon and charm, I just LOVE these little charms :)

Are You Brave Enough?

Morning all!

Hope you're all well. This week's theme over at Forever Friends Challenge Blog is a little different - it's

Are You Brave Enough?

We would like to see a card that you made in your early card making days and a card that you made today. The theme is Anything Goes, just to show an old card and a new one - and remember to include an animal on your card.

We're sponsored this week by the wonderful

and they're giving the lucky winner some digis from her store.

It's actually cringeworthy looking back at old cards! I can't believe I used to actually think these were good, let alone give them to people :/ but I guess looking back at them now shows how far I've come as a card-maker, which is always a good thing to know :)

So here's my old card from a year ago:
I don't know what I was thinking lol :P I was very ill and in hospital when I made it and one of the other patients on the ward was a really good cardmaker, and she saw it and told me everything that was wrong with it, I was so upset at the time! But she was right unfortunately :P

And here's my new card that I made recently.
The image obviously is Forever Friends, the sentiment is LOTV, the ribbon I won in a candy, the gems and corner are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I used a MS doily border punch, the DP is Wild Rose Studio and I used my grand impressabilities to emboss the white paper :)

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers and I put Glossy Accents on the balloon.

A closeup of the sentiment. I love this purple ink :)

I'd like to enter this (the new card!!) into the following challenges:

Thanks for looking, and I hope you're not too appalled by my old card :P

Baby boy card

Evening everybody,

I hope you're enjoying your weekend, my boyfriend is here for a few days, but he's coming off night shift so is sleeping a lot haha. I'm happy he's here though, we haven't seen each other for a month, feels like forever.

This is a card I made yesterday, my neighbour requested a card for a baby boy, so here it is.

The papers are Forever Friends/Wild Rose Studio/Tulip, the image is Wild Rose Studio, the ribbon, lace and charm are from Ribbon Girl, the sentiment is Lili of the Valley and the gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers, I put Stickles on the pram trim and on the flowers too :)

Horsing around

Evening all :)

I had a lovely day in town with my wonderful niece, she really is the funniest sweetest little lady ever! We went to the sweetshop and got loads of jellies, and we went to see The Lorax in the cinema, we really enjoyed it! We snuck our jellies in and munched on them instead of buying the overpriced fare they sell at the cinema - €3.50 for 500 ml of water when there's a Tesco literally next door? I do NOT think so. Then we went and got pizza and I took her to the toyshop and bought her a treat there :) She's such a good girl, and a delight to be with!

Anyway, I made this card this evening, I'm happy enough with it I think.

The image and sentiment are LOTV, the ribbon and gems are Wild Orchid Crafts, the swirl is Marianne Designs, the paper is Bo Bunny and the butterflies and border are MS punches.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers, I put Glossy Accents on the leaves and apples and Stickles on the flowers.

A closeup of my butterflies :)

Down on the Farm

Morning everyone :)

The sun is shining so I'm happy :) I have my niece today for the day, we're going for a stroll round town, taking in the sweet shop, toy shop, cinema and somewhere for dinner, so should be fun :)

I made this card for my dad, it's his 60th birthday in August, we're having a big party for him, I can't wait! He's a retired farmer, so when I saw this digi on Just Inklined, I had to have it :)

The image is from Just Inklined, the pearls and jute are from Ribbon Girl, the papers are Nitwits and Forever Friends, and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

A closeup of this gorgeous image! I coloured it with Promarkers and put Glossy Accents on the red part of the tractor :)

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

I'm also entering this into Brenda's Poppy Challenge on her blog, she took some lovely photos of poppies in the fields in her area and has a candy challenge based on that :) Such a beautiful idea! Here's her post with the photos, they're so idyllic.

Cats and Dogs

Hello everyone :)

Today over at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge, we have the theme of

Cats and Dogs

and we are sponsored by the absolutely wonderful
who will provide one lucky winner with 7 free digis from their store.

So here's the card I made for this challenge, I used orange again! I'm starting to quite like using it :P

I used this fabulous Bugaboo image, the papers are from a DCWV pack, the ribbon, gems and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the sentiment is from a pack I found in a charity shop and the leaves are a MS punch.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers. There's Glossy Accents on the cat's nose and bird's beak as well :)

An closeup of my orange and yellow flowers - this colour combo rarely works for me, but today it seems to be ok :)

Colour Challenge

Good afternoon everybody

I hope you're all well :) I'm having a good day today - I got chosen as one of 12 finalists out of the whole country for the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award, it turns out I can't go because I'm on holidays that week, but it's a real confidence boost to have actually been chosen for the final :) so happy Tanya today!

Anyway, on to more interesting things like cards :P I saw the new colour challenge over on the Ribbon Girl blog yesterday of Aqua, Blue and Terracota, with this photo inspiration:
and instantly dismissed it, because I'm terrible when it comes to orange lol :P but then I decided to challenge myself and go for it, and this is what I came up with :) I'm happy enough with it, considering I can't do orange, it turned out ok enough :)

I also found out what happens when you put gems through the Grand Calibur, they get squashed :P

The image and sentiment are from Lili of the Valley, the flowers and gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearls and ribbon are from Ribbon Girl, the swirl is Marianne Design, the leaves are a MS punch, I made the pins myself and the rest is from stash.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers, complete with mushed up gems lol and Stickles on her wings, buttons and wand :)

A closeup of the ribbon and homemade pins.

A closeup of my lovely Wild Orchid Craft flowers :)

Sentiment, I think this is going to be a thank you card, but I wanted to leave the sentiment neutral just in case.

Snape, Snape, Severus Snape

Good afternoon all,

It's sunny here at the moment...but it's also raining. I just don't get it lol. I was all set to go out for a walk to get some air and weightbearing exercise for my bones, and now it's raining. Grrrr! I hate being cooped up :(

So obviously, I turned to crafting instead! I'm rereading the Harry Potter books for the millionth time at the moment, so I've got Harry Potter on the brain. I'm obsessed. I tend to get obsessed with books - Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones... you just can't beat a good book! :D So here's what I made today :)

The image is from Bugaboo, the corners, rose and gem are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the charm is from Ribbon Girl, I printed the sentiment off the computer (it's a quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), the swirl is a Marianne Design die, the butterflies are a MS punch, the papers and ribbon came from my stash and I made the pin myself.

A closeup of the image. Snape is one of my favourite Harry Potter characters! Even since before the movies existed I had a bit of a crush on him, and then when the movies came out and he was played by Alan Rickman...yummy :D I just think these Bugaboo images are so cute :)

A closeup of my bow, charm and pin - it's the first pin I've ever made, so I guess I'm happy enough with it.

A closeup of the main bit of the card, I had originally thought to make a circular tag, but then decided to make it into a card :)

The quote. So basically this is a love card I guess, for someone to profess their undying love for someone else even after a very long time.

And for all the Harry Potter fans - if you haven't watched this video, watch it now - I think it's brilliant :D
