Evening all
Firstly, a rant. I use Promarkers. Keeping in mind that I've only been colouring for about a year and a half, I'm feeling very grumpy tonight, as yet another of my markers has run out! I don't colour an insane amount, maximum of one image a day, and I really don't see that as enough colouring for, so far, 8 of my markers to have run out. I store them on their side, in a cool, dry room, caps on always, so I'm really peeved at the moment about this, especially because I have a lot of pink colouring to do in advance of my niece's 5th birthday, and now my main pink marker has just up and died.
Considering just biting the bullet and buying a full set of Copics and having done with it. Replacing markers after less than a year in some cases feels too much like a con to me at the prices these markers are.
And a question too: if I do switch over to Copics...Ciao or Sketch??? And why :)
Rant over. (Any comments, advice etc fully welcome!)
So onto my card! My elderly neighbour is my biggest supporter in the crafting department, she's constantly telling all the neighbours that my cards are amazing and that they should order some, so this is one that another neighbour asked for through her, so happy days :) She needed a nice birthday card for her sister in law, so this is what I made.
Ingredients
Lili of the Valley "Coffee Break" rubber stamp
Lili of the Valley "Country Lady" paper pad
Computer generated sentiment
Ribbon, charm, button, pearls and twine from Ribbon Girl
Whimsy Corner Die
Aged Ivory Frantage
Glossy Accents, Stickles
Promarkers
Closeup of the cute little charm :)

Also, it reminds me so much of my mum and aunt, even the facial expressions are like theirs! So I get a little smile on my face every time I see this image, and thus use it as much as possible :)
Thanks for looking :)

Great card! I love that your image reminds you of your Mum and your Aunt. So sweet! You have awesome coloring skills. I'm not very good with the markers, so I'm afraid that I don't have any advice to offer you. But I do want to thank you for joining us this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Best of luck! ~ Michelle

ReplyDeleteSorry I've never used copics so can't give any advice. I use promarkers and I have quite a few that have been replaced several times.

Oh this is a super cute card Tags, love it! And hurrah for your neighbour, she is spot on about your talent. Wish I could help you on the pens sweetie but I gave up using them when I moved over to inks. Hugs Sxx
ReplyDeleteyou're ranting to someone who loves alcohol pens! I do like my promarkers but I've now got a few copics and just love the colour and blending with them. I just feel I can't afford to buy too many at one go sadly, and so will just keep adding a few at a time! I've also recently bought a few Graph-it pens, and found these good colours and blend well too! So many choices - so limited a budget! A gorgeous card Tanya, and I love this image too (just started colouring it up again yesterday funnily enough!).

Such a beautiful card Tanya, I love the image, wonderful colours and such gorgeous detailing too.
ReplyDeleteI have had a problem in the past with a couple of Promarkers going dry so I Emailed Letraset and they sent me some replacements so it's worth a try.
Thank you, also for taking part in the Lili's Little Fairies Challenge this week

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card Tanya, such a sweet image and I love the colours you've used.
ReplyDeleteCan't help with copic I'm afrais, I use promarkers. Have you tried looking at the nibs, sometimes they move and the ink does'nt get to them.
I'm useing Prismascolour pencils much more and I love them, I'm sure someone will come along with good advice, Kate x
Cute card Tanya - I love the sort of sepia effect you've created and fab LO too. As for your rant!! I used to use promakers and moved onto copics and I love them so much more! - the main thing that will address your copic rant is that they are refillable so you don't have the problem of them running out - though of course it costs more in the initial set up it works out so much cheaper in the long run. You don't need to buy the whole set together - you can use them alongside your promakers - I buy mine from cult pens and you need only buy - groups of colours - buying sets doesn't get you off colouring with shades if you know what I mean - I can give you the numbers of basics to buy if you email me - happy to help : ) hugs Judith xx
