Ahoy Matey :D

Evening all

I got busy in my craft room last night and made some cards that I'm actually happy enough with! Well, they're not too bad I guess haha.

My cats learned today how to jump in the window :( My craft-room window is always open, but I have to be careful now because it's right behind my craft desk so if the cats jumped in they'd knock everything over or worse slice themselves on my craft knife and that wouldn't do :( I closed it all but an inch to stop them coming in, but Scraps the silly cat still tried! And her claw got caught and she hurt her little paw :( ...so I had to open the door and let her in for some cuddles then...silly creature!

I've been reading loads lately, mainly rereading Harry Potter, but in between that, I've been reading a bit of everything! And I just Treasure Island by RL Stevenson. The theme over at Simon Says Stamp and Show this week is Read All About It - use text stamps, alter a book, use a book as inspiration etc; I was inspired by Treasure Island (and Pirates of the Caribbean which I watched whilst making this card! :D) and I used paper with text on it too :D Hence why I'm rambling on about what books I'm reading lol.

So here's my card after all that rambling, thanks to anyone who's still here and not bored to death of my chatter!

The image and sentiment are LOTV, the skull charm, string, jute and pearls (coloured with Promarkers) are from Ribbon Girl, the clock diecut I won in a candy from the wonderfully talented Brenda, the text paper is from a Glitz paper pack and the rest is from stash.

A closeup of the image, coloured with Promarkers. I put Stickles on the dog's bandana and Glossy Accents on the sword and hat. I used tea to darken the paper - I did get a parcel today from Bunny Zoe's Crafts today and I've invested in Distress Ink in Old Paper, I haven't tried it yet though. I put the tea on the cards with a small paint-brush - I've never used any kind of ink before - do you just use a paintbrush to put it on or what? Any advice greatly appreciated from the experts! :)

A closeup of the skull charm from the wonderful Ribbon Girls

and a closeup of the sentiment from the fantastic Lili of the Valley.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

So that's me, thanks for looking :)
